How do we deal with a ‘sprawling urban mobility crisis’? How do we deliver attractive, convenient and financially sustainable passenger transport services so that everyone in society can access jobs, healthcare, and – let’s face it – just get out and about for some human interaction?

In September 2016 the Mobility on Demand Laboratory Environment (MODLE) began to explore solutions to these pressing issues. During that time, this multi-award winning project has

  • spearheaded new transport demand and simulation techniques,
  • road-tested new service models, and
  • market-tested new business models.

This event marks the end of the 30-month project. It will bring together local authorities and industry partners in passenger transport from across the UK to share the insights of MODLE’s work and ‘living lab’ experiments (including MYFIRSTMILE and SevernNet Buzz); and to discuss what they tell us about the future of mobility.

MODLE is an Innovate UK supported project, led by Esoterix Systems in collaboration with project partners, First Bus, Transport Systems Catapult, University of the West of England and Bristol City Council.
